Sunday I went all the way across town to take a socially distant walk along the water with Harry, the other cello student who was taking care of my old teacher Robert just before he died. Because the funeral has been put off until Corona craziness is less crazy, we thought it would be nice to catch up and share some Robert stories and get a bit of closure that way. I wanted to find out how it had been for them both in the last few weeks of Robert’s life (I hadn’t been able to visit because of lockdown). Harry’s been left with the unpleasant job of sorting out the house/will etc so it was good to chat about that too. And before I left, Harry gifted me Robert’s Lemon Myrtle tree in a pot and a picture that had meaning for me. Very special. Both mean a lot to me.
The dog is getting quite a workout these days since we realised we can attach his leash to Herbie the electric tricycle (with me riding it) and then he can run to his heart’s content, much faster than when we walk him. He is also joining me on the yoga mat for Savasana at the end of my daily yoga practice. Charlie has a well balanced exercise routine.
Turned out that Charlie was the biggest star in the video that went up on Youtube last week, with Dave and I playing Rock Walls. Lots of nice things were said about the song and Dave’s and my performance, but most comments were about how gorgeous Charlie is. Not really. But quite a few.
Actually, we did do something different this weekend. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary has hidden some Aussie Animal stuffed toys around the outside, near the cafe, as part of the worldwide Teddy Bear hunt thing... so we went on a koala/emu/wombat/Tassie devil hunt and also had ice cream and drinks from the cafe as a special treat. Kids were so exhausted when we got home.
Emma and I have collected the pumpkins that grew themselves out the front. The vine has died now because we didn’t water it and it hasn’t rained in a month.
